Client Success Story
(How outsourced event management supported a seamless, cost-efficient event) |
 |
|
As the Council of State Restaurant Associations (CSRA) prepared for an event, they wanted to ensure attendees had a polished experience, sponsors received full value, and all logistics ran smoothly without stretching their internal team.
Having already worked together for years on partnership sales, CSRA turned to Big Red M to extend that relationship into event management, confident in the teamβs ability to deliver.
Big Red M provided full-service event support across pre-event planning, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up. This included vendor coordination, logistics management, and hands-on support for 125 attendees, 9 sponsoring organizations, 5 session rooms, 2 receptions, and a musical guest.
Through careful planning and strategic vendor oversight, the team identified $23,000 in audiovisual savings and $10,000 in catering savings, all while maintaining a high-quality experience for attendees and sponsors.
As a result, CSRA successfully delivered one of its strongest events to date, creating a seamless experience for attendees and sponsors while allowing its internal team to stay focused on broader priorities.

3 Association Management Myths That Are Holding Your Organization Back
(How partnerships and smart strategy drive results) |
|
Association management has changed. Old assumptions about staffing, budgeting, and growth can quietly hold your organization back. Here are three myths we still see and what forward-thinking associations are doing instead.
Myth 1: You Need a Full In-House Team
Bigger staff doesnβt always mean better results. Strategic outsourcing and flexible partnerships deliver specialized expertise, scale with your needs, and let your team focus on what they do best. Thatβs how Big Red M integrates sales, consulting, and publishing support without replacing your staff.
Myth 2: Consulting Is Only for Large Associations
Smaller and mid-sized associations often benefit most from consulting because they have less margin for error. Outside guidance helps prioritize, identify revenue gaps, and build strategies that produce real results. Non-dues revenue is a top financial challenge, and consulting expertise helps tackle it effectively.
Myth 3: One Person Can Handle Growth
Expecting a small team to manage membership, sponsorships, publishing, and events is a recipe for burnout. The most successful associations focus internal talent on mission delivery while bringing in external experts to drive revenue-generating functions.
Modern Association Management Looks Like This
-
Small, focused internal teams supported by strategic partners
-
Data-driven membership growth strategies
-
Actively managed non-dues revenue programs
-
Publishing and content that serves members and sponsors
-
Consulting that fits your culture
This approach has delivered measurable growth for hundreds of associations, regardless of size.

Big Red M Walks to End MS β Only 10 Days Left!
(Join us on April 12th in Washington, D.C. to support the fight against multiple sclerosis) |

Some decisions you make as a team stick because they look good on paper. Others stick because they mean something to the people in the room.
A few years ago, when Big Red M committed to partnering with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and participating in Walk MS, it was firmly the latter. Multiple sclerosis has affected members of our team and their families, and this felt like the right way for us to do something about it together.
This year, weβll be walking again on April 12th in Washington, D.C. (Just 10 days away!) standing alongside thousands of others who are raising awareness and critical funding to support those living with MS.
There are two ways to get involved:
Every step and every dollar makes a difference. Together, we can help create a world free of MS. |

A New Look Each Month
(How weβre showcasing new creative styles each month)
Now in its fourth edition, the April header design leads off this newsletter as part of our rotating banner series.
Designed by our Graphic Designer, Shelby Bigelow, this concept introduces a new header style each month. The goal is simple: showcase our teamβs creativity, highlight individual design styles, and bring more visual variety to each edition.
Inspired by Googleβs iconic logo treatments, these headers will continue evolving from month to month, giving us room to experiment creatively while keeping each issue feeling fresh. |
